Confession

Grab the 7th book from your bookshelf.
Open it up to page 7.
Pinpoint the 7th sentence on the page.
Begin a poem/a piece of prose that begins with that sentence
Limit it in length to 7 lines/7 sentences.

He visited the orphanage.

That was his ritual every month.

He spent the entire day with Rita, whom he loved more than anyone.

She brought the much needed spark in his extinguishing life.

That day he cried and sobbed, though he didnt want to.

"I will die soon and doctors can not save me."

He held her hand and confessed, "I am your father!"

Write Tribe Prompt

(PS- Picked up from a collection of short stories that belongs to my cousin who is in 9th standard. I had only this option as I am not having my books back here. But I followed the prompt religiously, his 7th book, 7th page, 7th sentence)

  1. Doesn't matter if the book is yours or not. This was a beautiful story you concocted from that line. :)

  2. It doesn't matter if the book isn't yours. But the post came out of your mind. That's what's important. Your post left me a little sad for poor Rita. To finally meet her father and then to have to lose him again. Poignant and beautiful.
